Volkswagen will showcase its electric prototype Golf Blue-e-Motion in Madrid next Friday

The German car manufacturer offers, through the Web site (volkswagen.es) and his Twitter account, “the possibility of opting to be one of the five lucky ones who will be able to drive the first electric vehicle of volkswagen.”

Volkswagen, which already rolled in June of 2011 a total of 80 units of its Golf Blue-e-Motion by berlin, Hanover and Wolfsburg, now brings to Madrid this electric prototype. The vehicle will be tested in the Spanish capital “as in German cities” by individuals, Small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations and public administrations. The aim of the German manufacturer is to “gather useful information for the further development” of this technology. In total, and so far, the Blue-e-Motion Golf has covered a distance of 500,000 Kilometers.
The Blue-e-Motion Golf is powered by an electric motor built into the front Compartment. With a power of 115 hp, it delivers a maximum torque of 270 Nm. According to Volkswagen, “the electricity that feeds the propeller is stored in a lithium-ion battery that has a capacity of 26.5 kWh and an autonomy of about 150 kilometers”. The total weight of the vehicle, including batteries, is 1,545 kilos. The Golf Blue-e-Motion Roadshow is rolling through the streets of Madrid on July 27th. The manufacturer offers the opportunity to participate in a sweepstakes (see volkswagen.es) to be one of the four winners who will be able to drive one of these Vehicles. A final invitation to try the electric Golf will be awarded via twitter, where contestants must explain in 140 characters why they should be the first to try it using the hashtag #VWGolfelectrico. The most original tweet will be Awarded. In addition, Volkswagen plans to keep track of the event from the official profiles of the brand on Twitter and Facebook.
