The new Toyota Yaris hybrid marks the wayadmin
true to his desire for perfectionism and Japanese patience to offer products of innovative electric vehicles without waiting for immediate achievements, Toyota enters with its full-Hybrid Yaris in a completely new segment for this type of propulsion: it will be again the “abrecaminos”.
The presentation of the new Yaris hybrid marks the moment when B-segment customers will be able to start enjoying the silence and low emissions of Toyota’s acclaimed Hybrid Synergy Drive ® (HSD) Technology. The ingenious design of the Yaris hybrid offers a complete combined hybrid driving experience “full hybrid” without giving up anything. The Yaris hybrid is equipped with a new, lightweight, compact, combined hybrid “full hybrid” system that combines a gasoline engine and an electric motor with a total power of 100 hp.
The Yaris hybrid incorporates the latest advances in HSD technology by reducing the size of the main hybrid Components. thus, for example, the 1.5-liter Atkinson-cycle petrol engine, Newly developed, is 16.5 kg lighter and 10% more compact than the 1.8-liter unit that mounts the hybrid Auris. The hybrid system, more compact and light, has helped to preserve the interior and trunk space of the conventional model. The new engine also promises emissions of CO2, NOx and lower B-segment particles, lower fuel consumption and low maintenance costs. The weight and size of other key components of HSD, such as the electric motor, the Power control unit (PCU) and the transaxle, have also been reduced. now, the electric motor is 20% more compact, while the PCU is 12% smaller than the unit mounted on the hybrid Auris. In addition, Toyota engineers have shortened the transaxle by 6%, and have reduced the weight by 11 kg.
Special attention has been paid to the placement and size of the nickel-hydride battery and fuel tank, to maintain the amplitude in the cockpit for the rear passengers and the space in the TRUNK. The new design, which does not give up anything, places the battery and the fuel tank under the back seat, without affecting the Boot.
